GftK is not really a household name in the UK, but they are quite well known amongst the trade. GftK are a German company founded in 1971 and they specialise in top quality chemical building products for all kinds of traffic surfaces – driveways, patios, paths in domestic speak.

GftK are an innovator of epoxy resin-based mortar systems (EP-mortar), setting a milestone in 1985 with the launch of their first EP pavement fixing mortar, the vdw 800, as a simple, fast, inexpensive, environmentally-compatible and durable option for paved areas such as patios and paths.

GftK offer a good variety of top quality EP mortars for the right application, here's a summary of the products available.

If the mortar gaps in your patio need fixing then VDW 840 will make the job a breeze. It comes in a 25kg tub which you simply open up, tip on your patio and sweep in. It couldn't be easier!

VDW 840 is most advanced polymeric sand formulation, vacuum packed in a sealed bag in a plastic tub.

VDW 840 is designed for use with joints down to <3mm.

This trade product is ideal for DIY use, it's extremely fast to apply and gets great results. It doesn't stain and forms weed and insect resistant mortar.

VDW 840 is suitable for all types of garden patios using natural stone, reconstituted stone, concrete blocks, flags etc.

One thing it can't do: VDW 840 is NOT designed for areas used by vehicles - if you have a patio which takes traffic, then you need to use VDW 800, VDW 805 or VDW 850.
